A. Justification.
As provided in 8 CFR 264.6, any nonimmigrant alien whose evidence of registration has been lost, mutilated or destroyed may apply immediately for its replacement. This information collection is used for such requests.
2. The data collected on this form is used by the alien temporarily residing in the United States to request a replacement of his or her arrival evidence. The information provided can be used to verify status and for determination as to the eligibility of the applicant.
3. The use of this form currently provides the most efficient means for collecting and processing the required data. In this case the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) does not employ the use of information technology in collecting and processing information.
