OMB applauds the
Department of State's revisions in response to public comment and
feedback. OMB also appreciates the Department of State's commitment
to converting this collection to an electronically submitted
collection by incorporating it into SEVIS by 2010. The Department
of State is given the full three year clearance in order to devote
resources to this conversion. If the Department of State has not
converted this collection to an electronic system by the time this
collection is resubmitted for OMB approval in 2012, it will receive
an abbreviated clearance due to a lack of GPEA compliance.

Due to public comments the
Department has incorporated several changes to the participant
information and site of activity sections on the form. It was also
suggested that the burden hour was not sufficient. Based on the
different lengths and complexity of programs, the Department has
determined that the burden hour should be increased to two
hours.
