The Branding Strategy and Marking Plan
are part of USAID's marking requirements. They are submitted at the
request of a USAID Agreement Officer after technical evaluation of
grants applications, and only by applicants who have been
recommended for award. The Branding Strategy and Marking Plan
describe how the USAID-funded program is named and positioned,
including using the USAID Identity as part of the title, as well as
how the program will be promoted and communicated to its
beneficiaries and the wider audience of host country citizens, and
details what items will be marked with the USAID Identity. The
Branding Strategy and Marking Plan will be negotiated and approved
by the Agreement Officer in the award.
The increase in burden is due
solely to the increase in the estimated number of grants being
awarded. Data on new assistance awards total count and obligations
shows 938 awards for Fiscal Year 2007 and 1041 for Fiscal year
2008. This averages to 989 awards per year. One thousand (1000)
awards per year is used as a baseline for estimating the burden,
given the slight increase in awards from FY 2007 to FY 2008.
