February/March 2008 Dear Reporter:
The purpose of this inquiry is to measure acreage planted and to be planted for the 2008 spring harvest and to determine the yield expected. Questions on the quantity of seed used and seed prices will provide estimates of seed costs. You will be contributing to the accuracy of the April 1 estimates by answering the questions below. Response to this survey is voluntary and not required by law. If you are not growing spring potatoes this year, please enter zero for your farm and answer questions 5 and 6 for your locality. Mail your report promptly in the enclosed envelope which needs no stamp. Your individual report will be kept confidential.

Authority for collection of information on spring potatoes is Title 7 Section 2204 of the U.S. Code. It will be used to compile and publish estimates of acreage and seed prices for Florida and the United States.
