Conflicting Interests Certification for Proprietary Schools

Public Law 110-252 established chapter 33 of title 38, U.S.C., a new educational assistance program that will be administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). To reflect the statutory provisions related to the new program, VA is amending VA Form 22-1919 to add chapter 33 to the benefit programs affected by 38 U.S.C. 3683, in which restrictions regarding conflicts of interest are applied to proprietary for profit schools. VA is also updating the form to specify the sections of the Code of Federal Regulations that apply to all proprietary schools: §§ 21.4202(c), 21.5200(c), 21.7122(e)(6), and 21.7622(f)(4)(iv). No other substantive changes have been made.

The annual burden for this information collection remains unchanged.
