States adoption of Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System codes (H0049) and (H0050) and assessment of support provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
States adoption of
Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System codes (H0049) and (H0050)
and assessment of support provided by the Centers for Medicare
& Medicaid Services
New
collection (Request for a new OMB Control Number)
The purpose of this survey is to
ascertain whether the states have adopted two new Healthcare Common
Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for alcohol and drug
screening and brief intervention (SBI), and to determine factors
that may inhibit State adoption of these codes.
The burden has increased
because of the initiation of this survey action. Surveying State
Medicaid agencies about the adoption and implementation of HCPCS
Codes H0049 and H0050 is important to the effective function of
ONDCP's role in implementing the codes. The additional burden is
minimal, as State Medicaid agencies are the entities responsible
for adoption and implementation of these codes; they will not need
to request that information from any other State agency.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of
these provisions, identify the item by leaving the box unchecked
