The number of mines and contractors has been updated using 2007 data, resulting in an increase in respondents from 21,031 to the current 22,381 The burden hours and costs decreased largely due to removing burden for training miners on HazCom. The current burden reflects only the paperwork burden associated with the training and not the burden for the actual training. Burden hours decreased from 203,438 to 177,668 and the burden cost decreased from $496,000 to $13,199. In addition, this has resulted in a decrease in the number of responses (from 845,370 to 813,753).
