The Survey of Law Enforcement's Forensic Backlogs (LEFB) will collect information on the number of unsolved criminal cases containing forensic evidence that have not been submitted to crime laboratories. Data will be collected from a national sample of approximately 3,150 State and local law enforcement agencies. A mixed-mode data collection will be used to provide respondents with multiple options for completing the survey including Web, mail, and fax.
