National Survey on Recreation and the Environment (NSRE)

The Forest Service included a Values, Opinions, Beliefs, and Attitudes (VOBA) module in the recent NSRE renewal package and included discussion of such in the supporting statement submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for approval. Due to OMB concerns on wording of some of the VOBA module questions, the VOBA module was removed and there not approved in the renewal issued in January 2008. The Forest Service is now requesting OMB approval for the VOBA module re-inclusion in the currently approved version of the National Survey on Recreation and the Environment.

The Forest Service requests approval of this module and asks that it be included in the current NSRE information collection, which expires in January 2011. Once approved, the module will be added to the other modules in the NSRE.
