Justification for Change

Change Request, Bee and Honey Inquiry, OMB No. 0535-0153

NASS is submitting this change request for the Bee and Honey information collection, OMB Control Number 0535-0153, to address minor Bee and Honey questionnaire changes; specifically the addition of a screening question for determination of in-scope records and a NASS standard question for requesting new respondent information for selected respondents no longer in business.

The Bee and Honey Inquiry is an annual collection designed to gather data on the number of bee colonies, honey production, honey stocks, production sold, and dollars received.

None of these additions will result in sampling or scope changes for the collection and should not result in substantive changes to burden. The addition of the screening question (Question 1) is designed to improve the format and flow of the instrument and the new operator questions (Questions 6 and 7) are intended to assist in continued list development to ensure better population coverage.
