The Administration on Aging (AoA) has
undertaken an effort to develop a core set of performance measures
for state and community programs on aging operating under the Older
American Act (OAA). This assists AoA to meet the accountability
provisions of the Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART) and
Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA). AoA has funded the
nationwide survey of AoA participants utilizing the survey modules
based on the Sixth Performance Outcome Measures Project.
New collection replaces an
annual study which has: 1) a core set of questions which remains
constant for each study; and 2) a variable set which focuses on
different services with each update of the study; this is the
fourth such national survey and it is done this way so as not to
overburden the respondents with questions and in order to be
flexible to the changing needs of the programs and constituents
being studied. The content of these studies have ben designed to
take about the same amount of time for each of these national
studies; so therefore, the questions on reduction/increase, as
stated above, do not apply to this collection, because the burden
should be constant for each study.
