  • NAHC represents approximately 5,000 home health and hospice providers. The providers range from small ‘mom and pop-like’ operations to large publically traded corporations, with multiple agencies.

Note: One survey method we have discussed as an option with NAHC is to post a survey online, accessible from this organization’s listserv and daily electronic newsletter, which is distributed to 5000 members. All members have access to their listserv, but not all participate. It is hard to know how many of their members are actively participating, but there is steady activity on a daily basis. The active listserv participants are health care professionals, predominately nurses and therapists, in upper and middle management. The nature of the discussions varies, but the majority of them address regulatory, agency operations, and clinical issues.

  • The Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) is the preeminent multidisciplinary organization for wound care.

AAWC is a nonprofit association, headquartered in the United States. This organization is open to everyone involved in wound care, including clinicians, patients and their lay caregivers, facilities, industry, students, retirees and others interested in the care of wounds. AAWC was conceived in 1995 to spread awareness by promoting excellence in education, clinical practice, public policy and research.

The AAWC gives its members the opportunity, through numerous Association benefits and activities, to build a collaborative community to facilitate optimal care for those who suffer with wounds. This community encourages an equal partnership among all individuals who are involved in the care of patients.

  • The Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders (AWCS) is a multidisciplinary consortium of 17 physician, clinical, provider, patient and manufacturer organizations that addresses regulatory and legislative issues impacting wound care. Its mission is to promote quality care and patient access to wound care products and services.
