0607-XXXX
Part B. Collections of Information Employing Statistical Methods –
Universe and Respondent Selection
The 2008 CFU plans to conduct followup on the universe of cases that meet the criteria defined by the following components: Coverage Edit (Count Discrepancy and Large Households), Coverage Probe, Unduplication, and Administrative Records.
Sampling Methodology and Estimating Procedures
This operation does not incorporate a sampling methodology.
3. Efforts to Maximize Response
The 2008 CFU telephone instrument will use proven CATI methods to maximize response and limit respondent burden. Multiple contact attempts will be made in order to obtain a completed interview. The interviewer will explain the reasons for conducting the interview, and respondents will be informed of their lawful responsibility to answer the questions. In addition, respondents will be assured that their responses are confidential. If a respondent refuses the interview, the interviewer will make additional attempts to gain cooperation.
We have conducted 3 tests of the Coverage Followup Operation throughout this decade.
2004 Coverage Research Followup
2005 Coverage Followup
2006 Coverage Followup
Results from each of these tests were and are being used to plan the 2008 and 2010 Coverage Followup Operations.
