Justification for Changes to Export-Import Bank Applications
Due to the Requirement
to Identify Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Businesses
The Export-Import Bank is requesting approval of changes to several forms in order to comply with PL 109-438, the Export-Import Bank Reauthorization Act of 2006. The Act established the Office of Financing for Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Small Business Concerns and Small Business Concerns owned by Women.
As a result of the Act and its mandates, and in an effort to identify small and minority-owned businesses, we are requestiong approval of the addition of two items to be added to some of our information collections:
(1) Is the applicant (or exporter, or supplier) a minority-owned business? Yes/No
(2) A woman-owned business? Yes/No
The question is added to section 1, Applicant and section 2, Exporter on page 1 of the application. The person filling out the form will need to check the yes or no box. The form is still being formatted and the final fillable PDF will be uploaded
We estimate that the two additional items will not add to the burden of the information collection.
