Other Change** The Census Bureau intends to change the CPS interview week in November 2007 to the week of November 11-17, which, correspondingly, will change the reference period to the week of November 4-10. The standard data collection period for CPS is the week of the 19th of each month. However, in 2007 the week of November 18-24 includes Thanksgiving. Making this change will allow us to minimize undue respondent burden and unwarranted nonresponse. This change of CPS interview week will happen again in the future when Thanksgiving falls during the standard data collection week. We have coordinated and cleared this change with Tom Nardone, the Assistant Commissioner for Current Employment Analysis at BLS.
