The regulations set forth in 22 CFR
Part 62 implement the Department of State's Exchange Visitor
Program, including the use of SEVIS (Subpart F) to facilitate
timely reporting and monitoring of international students and
exchange visitors (EVs) in the US. SEVIS is an Internet-based
application for electronically tracking and reporting on EVs, and
enables schools and program sponsors to transmit information
electronically to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement
and the Department of State. Additional non-electronic requirements
under 22 CFR Part 62 are also covered in this submission.

Act
PL: Pub.L. 104 - 208 641 Name of Law: Illegal
Immigrant Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1966
The change in burden hours
reflects the addition of the category of intern and additional
reporting of information and gathering of supporting documentation
necessary for compliance with regulatory changes adopted in 1993
(22 CFR Part 62). The decrease in responses is a result of more
accurate record keeping due to full implementation of the SEVIS
system since the last submission, which also resulted in a decrease
in cost burden.
