This is a national household survey designed to assess the knowledge, opinions, and behaviors of a representative sample of the American public related to the National Park System. Five basic areas of inquiry will be addressed: 1) barriers that inhibit visits to National Park System units; 2) patterns of visitation that characterize experience with National Park System units; 3) the relative importance of National Park System units as preferred leisure travel destinations; 4) opinions about emerging natural resource issues; and 5) public awareness of ways to support national parks.
