TELEPHONE INTERVIEW SCRIPT FOR NON-RESPONDENTS
Interviews will be conducted with approximately 30 non-respondents to the CHOH post-intervention survey. These telephone interviews will be conducted after the cut-off date for completion of the post-intervention survey.
Hello, may I please speak to _____________(name)? My name is __________ and I am calling from West Virginia University regarding a recent request for to complete a survey regarding the National Park Service’s “Your Towpath to Healthy Living” walking program on the C&O Canal Towpath through Georgetown.
We realize that there are many valid reasons for people choosing not to respond to a questionnaire.
However, to provide the C&O Canal National Historical Park with valid conclusions from this study, we would greatly appreciate your response to four brief questions today. May I ask you the four questions about the “Your Towpath to Health Living” walking program?”
(SUPPLEMENTAL INTRO, if respondent hesitates: This survey has been approved by the federal Office of Management and Budget, and additional information is available on request. Your responses will help the National Park Service improve its programs across the country. The U.S. Office of Management and Budget has approved this research under the Paperwork Reduction Act. All of your answers are completely voluntary. Responses to this study will be used only for statistical purposes. The reports prepared will summarize findings across the sample and will not associate responses with a specific individual. We will not provide information that identifies you to anyone outside the study team, except as required by law.)
