The information for which the agency
is requesting to collect will support a taxpayer's claim for
eligibility to use the safe harbor method of accounting for rotable
spare parts provided in the proposed revenue procedures. The
information will be submitted as a supporting schedule for the Form
3115, Application for Change in Accounting Method.
Emergency review is
requested because the revenue procedure is effective for taxable
years ending on or after December 31, 2006. This revenue procedure
was only made ready for release in late February 2007. Taxpayers
who need to change their method of accounting for the 2006 calendar
year will need to file the Form 3115 with their tax return which is
due March 15, 2007.
A new Rev. Proc. is effective
for taxable years ending on or after December 31, 2006. Taxpayers
need to change their method of accounting for 2006 calendar year to
File Form 3115 with their tax return which is due March 15,
2007.
