This information collection requires
the States to maintain certain information to ensure drivers of
commercial motor vehicles are properly licensed in accordance with
all applicable Federal statutory requirements. This ICR is being
revised to incorporate changes made due to an NPRM titled
The total annual burden hours
for the first 3 years of implementating the merger of the medical
certification requirements and the CDL issuance and renewal
processes will remain unchanged (program change). The total annual
burden hours for the subsequent years have been revised to reflect
changes due to the proposals set forth in the NPRM once they are
implemented in a final rule. The estimated cost for the first 3
years was revised to include a one time start up costs for the
jurisdictions to modify their computer systems to accommodate the
requirements of the NPRM.
