Summary of Updates/Revisions

SSA-1425, “Reporting Changes That Affect Your Social Security Payment”

2007 Version

• Item 2, first sentence beneath heading: Updated year and exempt amounts.

• Item 2, first sentence beneath heading: Added “for the months before the month you attain FRA” at end of sentence. This change was necessary for accuracy and clarity.

• Item 2, second sentence beneath heading: Changed first part of sentence to read, “If you attain FRA in 2008 or later,” for accuracy and clarity.

• Item 2, second sentence beneath heading: At end of sentence, updated year and exempt amounts.

• Item 2.a., first sentence: Updated monthly exempt amount and year for those who are under FRA.

• Item 2.a.., first sentence: Added to end of sentence the monthly exempt amount and year for those who are attaining FRA in the current year. Adding the second category for the higher exempt amount makes the sentence complete and, therefore, accurate.

• Item 3.a..: Updated year and monthly exempt amounts. Clarified language in parenthetical material to be consistent with other language on form.

• Vertical note on right margin: Removed the note regarding attainment of age 70, because it no longer applies. There are no special rules about earnings at age 70, because the earnings test no longer applies at that age - per 2000 legislation.
