Head Start Oral Health Initiative Grantee
Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. (MPR), along with Health Systems Research, has been contracted by the Administration on Children and Families to conduct an evaluation of the Head Start Oral Health Initiative. The purpose of the evaluation is to learn about grantees’ implementation experiences and promising service delivery practices that may be helpful to other Head Start programs.
As part of the evaluation, we will soon begin conducting telephone interviews with all 52 Oral Health Initiative grantees. A member of our research team will contact you to schedule a time to talk. During the interview, which should take about 90 minutes, we would like to discuss the following topics:
Background information about your agency
Characteristics of your community and the families you serve
Goals, objectives, and key components of your Oral Health Initiative
How you designed your Oral Health Initiative
Staffing and staff training for your Oral Health Initiative
Community partners
Service delivery
Early successes and challenges in implementing your Oral Health Initiative
In addition, at the beginning of the interview, I would like to confirm some information from your Oral Health Initiative proposal and collect some background information about your agency. To make this easier for you, I have attached a list of these specific questions.
Thank you in advance for participating in the telephone interview. We look forward to learning more about your Oral Health Initiative! In the meantime, if you have questions about the evaluation, please feel free to contact me at 609-275-2297 or dpaulsell@mathematica-mpr.com.
Sincerely,
Diane Paulsell
