John,
Per
our conversation, this is to confirm that the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) did not receive any comments regarding the DEA
information collection 1117-0038: Reporting and Recordkeeping for
Digital Certificates.
OMB requested that DEA revise question 15 of the Supporting Statement, Reasons for Change in Burden, to provide greater explanation regarding the burden change for this collection. Below please find the revised language for this question:
15. Reasons for Change in Burden: This ICR covers a renewal of a voluntary program that is in the process of being adopted by the regulated entities. This program permits persons purchasing Schedule I and II controlled substances to use digital certificates to sign orders for those controlled substances if they so choose. As discussed previously, DEA has adopted a phased approach for the adoption of this system. This ICR reflects the phase-in of this system over the next three years.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact John Solitro at (202) 307-5466 or me at (202) 307-3618.
Thank you,
Michelle
