Public Law 107-133 provides for
funding to public or non profit agencies that recruit, screen,
train, and support mentors for children with an incarcerated parent
or parents. Pursuant to annual performance planning and reporting
requirements placed upon Federal agencies by the Government
Performance and Results Act, and in order to maintain oversight and
exercise proper stewardship of taxpayer-funded programs, FYSB, the
administering federal agency, must regularly collect information on
outputs and outcomes of the mentoring program.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
