The National Center for Birth Defects
and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) proposes to conduct a
one-time-only survey of preventive cardiac health care knowledge,
beliefs, and behaviors among women who may carry a genetic change
for Ducheene/Becker Muscular Dystrophy (DBMD). Preventive cardic
care is important for DBMD carriers, because they can develop
clinical or preclinical cardiomyopathy many years before it might
otherwise be expected to manifest as an aging-related
disorder.
