This collection of financial data is
required to be filed by Class I railroads (currently seven), which
have revenues in excess of 250 million dollars, so that the Board
can fulfill various statutory requirements pursuant to U.S.C.
11123, 11145-45 and 111323-25. These reports are also used by the
Board to assess industry growth as well as sudden changes in
carrier financial stability, and by the Board and others to
identify trends that may affect National Transportation.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
