In support of the Government Paperwork
Elimination Act and its own electronic filing initiatives, the
USPTO uses Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology to support
secure electronic commerce between the USPTO and its customers.
This collection includes the Certificate Action Form, which is used
to process requests for digital certificates and to provide
customers with the authorization codes to use the PKI software. The
USPTO is adding a new electronic Certificate Self-Recovery Form to
this collection. The USPTO believes that the primary respondents
will be individuals or households, but businesses or other for
profits
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).

the proposed collection of information, that the certification
