The USDA Forest Service has a need to
collect information, for the use in testing and evaluating
long-term retardant fire suppressants that are used in wildland
fire activities. This is necessary for respondents to ensure the
chemicals used in the products (1) are safe for personnel involved
in wildland fire activities, (2) are safe for the environment, and
(3) do not lead to corrosion of equipment; and (4) to expedite
procurement of the products wherein evaluation of the product
conformance requires specialized labortary facilities, replicable
test procedures, and extended testing timeframes (i.e. one-year
stability tests
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
