Regulations governing the interstate
movement of plants and plant products from HI and US territories
are contained in 7 CFR part 318, "Hawaiian and Territorial
Quarantine Notices." These regulations are necessary to prevent the
interstate spread of plant pests such as the Medfy, melon fly,
Oriental fruit fly, green coffee scale, bean pod borer, and other
plant pests to noninfested area of the US.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
