VA Form 21-8416 is used to gather
information about unreimbursed medical expenses paid by
beneficiaries in receipt of income-based benefits and claimants
claiming income-based benefits. Unreimbursed medical expenses may
be excluded from otherwise countable income in determining
entitlement to income-based benefits and the rate payable. Without
this collection of information, VA would be unable to authorize and
properly pay benefits.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
