The FCC should
explore combination of the political file collecti on with the
public file collections for commercial and non-commer cial stations
(OMB 3060-0215 and OMB 3060-0211 and collections fo r rule
73.3526), whenever one of these collections expires or is revised.
If these collections can not be combined, the FCC shall provide
justification for their separation. In addition, the donor list on
file with 0215 should not include personally identifiable
information for individuals who contribut e as part of a station
pledge drive, but should be reserved for s ponsors/underwriters of
specific programming.

Section 73.3527 requires each
noncommercial educational broadcast station licensee/permittee to
maintain a file for public inspection. The contents of the file
vary according to type of service and status. The FCC (field
investigations) and the public use this data to evaluate
information about the station's performance.
