SSA has established a password process
for verifying the identity of individuals who choose to use the
Internet and Automated Telephone Response to conduct business with
SSA. Services will be password protected when it is necessary
because of the nature of the information being transmitted or
because the requestor requires a higher level of protection. The
password process will allow the requestor to establish their
identity with SSA, to create a password, and to then to access
their own personal information.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
