Despite serious
concerns regarding the level of burden imposed by this collection,
OMB approves this request for one year under the following terms of
clearance: 1. Given the absence of longitudinal data NSF will not
make any statements or claims to indicate that observed changes are
the result of the program. 2. Prior to expiration of this clearance
NSF will report to OMB on steps to reduce the requested burden
particularly with respect to the K-12 respondent group, NSF will
additionally present all initial results, a discussion of the
utility of the MSP monitoring system, initial analysis, and a
discussion of any conclusions to OMB.

A data collecting mechanism of
participants and institutions involved with the NSF's Math and
Science Partnerships (MSP) program, to examine project activity and
outcomes, serving as an essential repository of data for the
evaluation of MSP. Respondents include Principal Investigators
(PIs) for Partnership and RETA Awards, K-12 School Districts,
Institutes of Higher Education (IHE) Partners, and IHE
Participants. Information is to be used by NSF staff for program
implementation and impact assessment.
