This study will evaluate the
effectiveness of an evaluation and intervention protocol that can
be used to accommodate the special needs of noise-exposed,
hearing-impaired workers so that they can continue to perform their
jobs safely while preventing additional hearing loss. The primary
purpose of the evaluation and intervention protocol is to maximize
speech intelligibility in noise while minimizing the risk of
additional noise-induced hearing loss in the workplace.
Specifically, comparisons will be made between the study
participant's current HPD and the HPD identified as the best choice
by the evaluation protocol and....
