Cleared on an
emergency basis, for 6 months from submission, beca use of the
short statutory deadlines. Public notice of submissio n for review
is waived. FTC is to publish in the Federal Registe r a notice of
this emergency clearance and a 60-day request for c omment that
extends no later than the period of clearance. Any e xtension of
this clearance will be submitted as a regular request .FTC will
submit e-mails to the desk officer of plans to conduct individual
surveys under this generic clearance, including popula tion, sample
size, remuneration, and draft survey instrument. OM B will respond
within 10 business days. Within 3 months of the e nd of the
clearance period (or July 30, 2005 if the clearance per iod is
extended to 12 months or longer) FTC shall provide a summa ry of
the survey activities conducted under this clearance, inclu ding
the surveys, brief survey method, number of respondents, rem
uneration paid, and the results of each survey.

consumer surveys in order to fulfill the agency's responsibilities
under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of
2003.
