The National Evaluation of Smaller
Learning Communities is a study to assess the implementation and
estimate the impact of creating smaller learning communities in
high schools. The study will address how schools are implementing
smaller learning communities (e.g. variety of strategies,
approaches, and models; characteristics and needs of the population
served; intensity, variety and quality of services); whether
smaller learning communities imrove student outcomes; and whether
program implementation and outcomes vary by types of strategies and
approaches and by types of schools.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
