Section 506 of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley
Act, Public Law 106-102, requires the OCC to prescibe regulations
as necessary to carry out the purposes of the Fair Credit Reporting
Act (15 U.S.C. 1681s). The rule implements the provisions of the
Fair Credit Reporting Act that permit institutions to communicate
consumer information to their affiliates without incurring
obligations of consumer reporting agencies. Respondents are
national banks and individuals.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
