This study examines the relationships
between the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and
Children (WIC) and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations,
specifically the effect of various forms of Medicaid managed care
implementation on WIC agencies' ability to coordinate services with
primary care providers. The study examines the effects of various
Medicaid managed care models on the implementation of coordination
efforts among different models of WIC service delivery and primary
care services supported by Medicaid and measures the impact of
managed care on local efforts to coordinate WIC and primary
care.
