Rules to Ensure Compatibility with Enhanced 911 Emergency Caling
Systems
Extension without change of a currently approved collection
The Commission seeks a three-year
extension of OMB approval for the burdens contained in the Third
R&O which revised rules applicable to wireless carriers to
permit the use of handset- based solutions, or hybrid solutions
that require changes both to handsets and wireless networks in
providing caller location information as part of Enhanced 911
services.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
