through 6/2003 under the conditions that SSA:1) submits to OMB the
final pilot report which should include an analysis of both false
acceptances and rejections; 2) incor- porates the mandated PRA
disclosure statements into the computer screens; and 3) makes a
concerted effort in the future to submit packages through the
normal PRA review process rather than request OMB emergency
processing that diminishes opportunities for public comment.

SSA plans to test the use of voice
technology, saving a biometric voice-print, as a positive
verification by the business that a registrant is allowed to act on
their behalf. This technology is expected to be more secure, less
burdensome, faster and provide better customer service than other
available options. SSA will initiate a 2-month Proof of Concept
project to test the business community's acceptance of this
technology.
