Existing collection in use without an OMB Control Number
CDC has been
collecting this information without an OMB number for the past 6
years. This is a serious violation of the Paperwork Reduction Act
and must be reported in this year's Information Collection Budget.
In the future, CDC should take great care to ensure that all
collections of information from the public are identified and have
valid OMB control numbers.

The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) requests an emergency clearance for a
comprehensive surveillance of breast and cervical cancer screening
and tracking services using data reported by grantee programs
funded through the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early
Detection Program. State, territorial, and tribal governments
report breat and cervical cancer screening data to CDC in a minimum
data format. Infrastructure data is reported via STAR (System for
Technical Assistance Reporting).
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
