The purpose of the proposed survey is
twofold: 1) to understand the costs incurred by financial
institutions in complying with Bank Secrecy Act requirements to
file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity
Reports (SARs), and 2) to examine the use, including possible
expansion, of statutorily authorized exemptions from CTR
reporting.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
