Department of Interior's next request to extent this information
collection, the Agency shall describe efforts currently underway to
accomodate the electronic submission of data and to what extent
those efforts had reduced burden. Additionally, the Agency shall
reduce the number of copies requested from applicants to the
recommended level of three copies maximum.

Permit application requirements in
section 507 and 508(g) of PL 95-87 require the applicant to submit
the operations and reclamation plans for coal mining activities.
Information collections is needed to determine whether the mining
and reclamation plan will achieve the reclamation and environmental
protections pursuant to SMCRA.
