Census faxed a
revised version of the questionnaire on 4/24/02 which reflects
agreed upon changes. Interviewers should be trained to NOT ask
"anything else" when administering the race question. Also, "other"
should NOT be offered as a response category but is only listed on
the questionnaire to reflect a keying option for the interviewer.
Census should send to OMB a summary of the findings of this
supplement as soon as available.

This supplement will ask the race and
ethnicity questions identical to how they will be asked in January,
2003. The dataset will allow users of CPS data to comprehend the
impact of the change in the race and ethnicity questions on
statistics derived from the CPS.
