Provides commercial slaughter and red
meat production by species. Federally inspected slaughter data
enable the Food Safety and Inspection Service to fulfill its
responsibilities mandated by the Federal Meat Inspection Act.
Estimates are used by Government industry and the private sector in
production and marketing decisions, and for economic analysis and
research.
