The Office of Refugee Resettlement
provides benefits and services to help refugees and other special
populations (hereinafter refugees) resettle in the U.S. Some
refugees who have committed crimes are being released from
detention and are applying for benefits but they no longer have
their original immigration documents, which have important
information relevant to a benefits eligibility determination. ORR
will need the information that is being requested, such as the
Alien Registration Number, to confirm an individual's status prior
to issuing benefits. ORR will only use this information
