collection provisions of this proposed rule are not approved at
this time. VA is examining public comment in response to the NPRM.
The preamble to the final rule will address how the agency has
responded to any comments related to minimizing the burden of this
collection while maximizing its practical utility. In its
submission concurrent with the final rule, VA shall also address
plans for compliance with the Government Paperwork Elimination
Act.

An insured person who is terminally
ill may request payment of a portion of the face value of the
insured person's SGLI or VGLI insurance as an Accelerated
Benefit.
