Terms of Clearance: ED has indicated in a memo dated 7/2/01 that the department will issue guidance on what aggregate data must be reported in terms of race and ethnicity to all schools by Fall 2001. If the department is not going to be able to issue guidance by the end of 2001, ED shall inform OMB as soon as possible, and develop a timeline that is acceptable to OMB. This collection will be phased out as states obtain the technology necessary to complete the consolidated data collection approved under 1820-0644.
