The DS-156E is used by consular
officers to determine the eligibility of aliens to qualify for
treaty trader or treaty investor nonimmigrant visas for the purpose
of carrying on their business enterprises in the United States.
Such visas are known as E-1 and E-2 visas, respectively. This
collection is a supplement to the OF-156 (Nonimmigrant Visa
Application) and I-129 (Petition for a Nonimmigrant
Worker)
