On October 21, 1998, Public Law
105-276 was enacted. Sec. 432, Open Season For Certain Alaksa
Native Veterans For Allotments, requires BLM Alaska to solicit
information on an application form to determine if applicants meet
the requirements of the law to obtain 160 acres of federal land.
The information received in the application will enable BLM to
adjudicate these applications for the estimated number of veterans
expected to apply, approximately 1,100 individuals.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
